Seth A. Avery, JD, CPA

Co-Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Avery has over 25 years of experience as a healthcare executive, serving as auditor, consultant, Administrator and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mr. Avery has served as the CFO for a major teaching hospital in Texas and as the Executive Director of a leading New Jersey Medical School. He has worked at government, for-profit, and not-for-profit health care providers, as well as at a Big 6 organization.

Seth has been certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and is a past member of the National Advisory Board for the AAPC. He is a frequent speaker at local, regional and national forums. Seth has a B.S. from Campbell University, an M.A. in Economics from the University of New Mexico and a Juris Doctor from Texas Wesleyan University. Seth is also a 14 year veteran of the U.S. Military, serving both as a member of 5th Special Forces Group and as a Medical Service Corps officer.

Michael Scotece

Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Scotece is a hands-on technologist and innovator with over 25 years of experience working in research and development and entrepreneurial endeavors. He was a principal member of the research and development team for Initiate Systems (acquired in 2010 by IBM) and was awarded their Scotty Award for Technical Innovation. Performing as a System Architect, he was granted a patent related to hierarchy-based user interface technology. Michael was directly involved in establishing Initiate Systems as a technology leader in master data management (MDM,) utilizing data linking and analytic algorithms.

Michael previously functioned as the Corporate Network Administrator for Choice Hotels International, the second largest hotel franchise company in the world. He was awarded Choice's Extraordinary Performer Award for his accomplishments. He led the transformation of various systems away from mainframes to GUI based multi-tiered applications and spearheaded the development of Choice's internal web technology. He was also a co-founder of Phoenix Computer Specialist, which specialized in personal computer consulting, programming and network services.

Michael joined AppRev in 2007 as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and is directly responsible for creating AppRev's patent-pending technology. He is a Certified Network Engineer and holds a Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Computer Information Systems.

Jeffrey Carnes

Director of Operations

Mr. Carnes has focused his career on working in healthcare consulting, specializing in financial forecasting, data quality and management, product development and strategic business planning. Prior to joining AppRev, Mr. Carnes was a budget analyst at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Group in New Jersey where he had responsibility for department budgets and financial reporting.

Mr. Carnes joined AppRev in 2006 as a Financial Analyst, working with the founding partners to develop the Pricing Analytics solution. Over the course of his career at AppRev, Mr. Carnes has also held the positions of Senior Financial Analyst and Director of Financial Analytics prior to his current role. As the Director of Operations, Mr. Carnes serves as a subject matter expert in pricing analytics, CDM structure and 835/837 electronic transaction sets, while specifically supporting financial and value based reporting, data management and organizational process and development.

Mr. Carnes also serves as the HIPAA Compliance Officer for AppRev.

Mr. Carnes holds a Bachelor's Degree from West Virginia University, majoring in Economics with minors in Accounting and Communication.

Blake Boggs

Senior Manager, Financial Analytics

Mr. Boggs has over 8 years of experience in the healthcare analytics field, specializing in pricing and analytical modeling. Prior to joining AppRev, Blake held the position of Research Analyst at Scottish Re where he assisted in developing mortality assumptions and pricing life reinsurance for insurers.

Blake has Bachelors Degrees in Finance and Risk/Insurance from Appalachian State University and joined AppRev in 2009 as a Senior Financial Analyst. In his current role as Senior Manager of Financial Analytics, Blake leads the Financial Analytics Team, which is responsible for delivering AppRev's Pricing Analytics solution to hospitals and providers across the United States. Blake's team also provides support for AppRev's Clinical Analytics division.

Tabitha Doss

Director of Marketing

Ms. Doss has over 6 years of experience in the healthcare finance industry, with a diverse marketing background that includes clinical software client management and support management. Prior to joining AppRev, Tabitha served as Events and Marketing Manager for TruBridge, coordinating trade shows and conferences, as well as leading national B2B marketing efforts and the company's social media presence.

Ms. Doss holds a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Communications from the University of South Alabama and joined the AppRev team in 2016.

As the Director of Marketing, Tabitha will be responsible for managing and increasing awareness of AppRev's full range of revenue cycle products, while continuing to advance the company's marketing strategies.
