Disproportionate Share Hospital Recovery

This service increases revenue reimbursement by increasing the accuracy of the Client’s Medicare Disproportionate Share (DSH) payments due for past or current fiscal years of a Hospital. Our evaluation is performed by a comprehensive review of inpatient stays, to determine the Medicaid eligibility status for each patient during their stay. The outcome from this service will be the determination with complete documentation and support for the exact and/or additional patient days eligible for reimbursement by the federal Medicare DSH program for submission to the Hospital’s fiscal intermediary. We provide complete documentation for each fiscal year in an audit ready package. We perform this work on both current Cost Reports, and prior year Cost Reports that are available for a reopening or an appeal. We also work with the Medicare Intermediary during the audit to assure that all relative questions are answered. If a hospital has had a consulting firm work on Medicare DSH, we welcome the opportunity to come in after that firm. We have consistently found additional reimbursement that other firms have missed.
